Now young kids can join in one of America's favorite pastimes. Although the Cadet Horseshoe is designed with the needs of the younger horseshoe pitchers in mind, it is also perfect for seniors looking for an alternative to common heavier horseshoes. At 1½ pounds, Cadet Horseshoes are a full pound lighter than most other steel horseshoes. Cadets are the lightest regulation horseshoe being manufactured in the entire world today! Whether it be pitching horseshoes with family and friends in the backyard, or competitively in leagues and tournaments, these forged steel horseshoes are a must have.
The shape and feel of the Cadet resembles the ever-popular, center balanced, Gordon Horseshoe and is conducive for pitching any style; turn or flip. The medium temper is soft enough to resist bounceback, yet hard enough to limit excess dings and burrs. The opening is the full 3½ inches, allowing for the greatest opportunity for success in making ringers.
Unlike most horseshoes made today of cast iron or low quality steel (that often easily crack or break) Cadet Horseshoes are manufactured using the top-quality Gold Standard Drop Forge process with premium AISI steel. Forging produces a unique internal grain structure that endows the exceptional strength and durability this Ultra-light weight horseshoe is famous for (not the air pockets and internal voids common to cast horseshoes that cause breakage). Our Industry-Best LIFETIME WARRANTY backs up the Cadet's High-caliber manufacturing. When you pitch Cadets, you are pitching top quality Ultra-light horseshoes! Learn more about Forging.
I bought these for my wife, She has a problem with throwing the regular size shoe because of the weight of the shoes. With the new cadets she is able to toss the shoes with better strength and accuracy. She had quit playing horseshoes but now she is practicing again. With more time with the new cadets I believe she will start throwing in competition again. Thank you Omega for coming up with these new shoes
